The quiet calm melted into the unlit warm air. Circling your eyes till they bled. It was a night that Allen knew too well. The citizens of Lucifenia were ranting to the castle again. It was becoming quite frequent these days. A sight and sound Allen wanted to keep his love from at all costs.

Len was living with him now, free to visit his home in wonderland. It was about eleven at night when the young blonde awoke, petting Len’s hair as he looked from the window. Torches lit the sky, but they weren’t harming people yet.

A woman whispered from the crowd, eyeing Allen. Asking when they would all get their free fruit. He knew they would be calm until morning with this,and they personally liked him more than Rilliane, so he filled a bag with fruit and tied it to a rope, lowering it to them. With this, they went home.

Smiling with relief, Allen lay back with Len, worried for the morn, but happy with the moment in his bed.

-{うさぎ} Ω Len had been woken up by shouts. He stared at Allen from under the blankets, his bunny ears occasionally giving a twitch. What was he doing? Who were the people shouting?

Eventually, Allen returned to bed after lowering something to the ground. Curious, he hugged the older blond, poking his head out from under the blankets. Ω

“Allen…? What was all that noise?”

Allen shook in surprise by Len’s hug. He was awake? A gentle hand carressed his ears and hair. A kiss placed on his lips.

“It was nothing to worry about. Villagers wanted fruit, is all. We can go back to sleep.”

It was a bit warm, so Allen took his shirt, putting it on the bed. Smiling a bit curiously at Len.

“Don’t you blush, seeing my naked top half~ Well, good night again.”

He layed beck next to Len, worried about the villagers, but hoping there wasn’t to be a riot later.

This person, who looked like himself, was eyeing Allen. He knew. This office too. Seemed very clean. The walls were poised with albums and records. Photos of this person too. He was a singer? Or famous?

“C-can I ask whom you are?~”

↬⌛.} “Me? I’m…” Len paused. How could he possibly describe himself without sounding distant and lonely? The boy finally decided to be honest. He was speaking to a child who deserved the truth.

‘“My name is Len Kagamine. I’m a detective. If I ever find free time, I sing. Most of my songs focus on life. The beauty of it and the misery of it.”

With relief, Allen smiled. A detective? Then he is for justice and hope? He missed that about where he lived. Everyone was against him and Rilliane. It was like Allen was their detective? Well, and knight.

“Ah! I see~ It is even more nice to meet you then. I am Allen Avadonia. I’m nothing fancy like you are. A meer servant is all. I am disturbing your work…?”

The day was calm, but the echo of heels wasn’t. Allen had been following Rilliane’s orders all day and he finally finished. For now. Hurrying from the front golden door, he ran to the rose fields up the pebbled path. Air in the sky dying a red hue. Petals flowing in the wind. His frail, tiny fingers untied his bow on his vest as he lay in the grass and closed his eyes.

The Mistress was walking silently in that field, her field, and reminiscing old memories she used to share with her deceased twin. Sure enough, she came across Allen, lying on the grass with his eyes closed. She knew of course this was not the real Allen, not her Allen, but she was not one to complain. She sat down, next to him on the grass. She kept her hood on so that the servant wouldn’t recognize her.

“Lovely day, isn’t it?”

Used to being approched by strangers, Allen kept his eyes closed and smiled.

“Yes…quite warm.”

It was a woman. Young, it sounded to the servant boy. A bit familiar too. The minutes of calm went by and he decided to look at her. Cloaked, she was. Hair he could tell was blonde.

“Hello~ You are a traveler?”

She nodded. It sounded like a believable cover.

“I am a bit weary from my journey. I am here for a quick rest, if you do not mind. Is this your rose field? It’s really beautiful..”

Of course she knew it was hers, well the ‘past’ Riliane’s technically, but any communication with her twin made her happy. It made her forget just for a moment that her real twin is dead because of her. It made her happy, even if it was quick, false happiness.

With a light laugh, Allen sat up. Holding one of her hands and bowing.

“Yes, it is. I am a servant in the castle nearby. You are welcome to stay for the night. My name is Allen Avadonia. It’s a pleasure to meet you, miss.~”

He pulled her up and cleaned her cloak and then his pants. Picking a few roses for Rilliane. Putting a pink one in the girl’s hand.

“You wish to come rest?”

The Mistress blushed for once in a very long time. She almost forgot how great the feeling was. Clutching the beautiful rose tightly, she smiled.

“Thank you kindly, stranger, but I cannot even if I wish to. I wouldn’t want to intrude upon the family of the castle…” As much as she would like to stay with him, she cannot be seen by the other Riliane. Ironic, how she herself is the only barrier keeping her from her twin.

“I understand~ I will pay for your hotel then? There is one right up the path.”

Feeling like he knew who she was, or reminded him of, Allen smiled an said the one thing he knew would resonate. It was true, when he eyed the time at his pocket watch.

“Ah? It’s time for Brioche…I will return you then?~”

“It was nice meeting you. Thank you kindly.” she smiled and turned to leave, but an item accidentally fell out of her cloak pocket and onto the ground. It was a yellow, highly decorative fan, one of Riliane’s prized possessions. The mistress quickly grabbed it, cursing herself for being so clumsy and careless. She knew there was no way he didn’t catch sight of that, however.

“…….” she quickly turned to leave, not wanting to be confronted about the reason why she has such an item in her disposal, and more frighteningly, her identity.

Eyeing the fan, Allen silently laughed. Knowing who it was, or was similar to. He picked her hand again and bowed.

It was very nice meeting you, Miss. I wish you well on your travels. You know…you remind me of a very person dear to my heart. My princess, actually. It isn’t fate, but it helped me to feel better. Thank you and good luck….~”
